Melanie Langford, O.D.

received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University Bloomington. She then went on to receive her Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL. She also chose to complete a residency with the University of California Berkeley at the Palo Alto VA Hospital where she specialized in primary care and low vision. Dr. Langford practices full scope optometry and she enjoys working with patients of all ages.

She is licensed in the treatment and management of ocular disease with therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, primary open angle glaucoma, and lacrimal irrigation and dilation. In her free time, she enjoys running and going to Balboa Park with her dog, Leo.

We are proud to announce that Dr. Langford is now one of the few optometrists in San Diego providing pre-op consults and post-op care for patients interested in the CentraSight® treatment program for end-stage macular degeneration using the implantable telescope technology. This novel, FDA-approved medical device is implanted inside the eye to improve vision in patients who have been diagnosed with end-stage macular degeneration and who have not had previous cataract surgery. Visit CentraSight.com for more information, or call our office today and schedule a low vision consultation to find out if you are a possible candidate!
